This is decorating, rather than a baking class. Think gingerbread people with piped scarves, snowflakes with delicate lines, or stars dotted with colour. We’ll agree the biscuit shapes and designs when planning your session.
Your instructor starts with the tools and shows how icing consistency affects the result. Then you’ll practise piping on a sheet before decorating your biscuits. There’s time to find a comfortable grip.
First, you’ll pipe an outline. Next comes flooding, where softer icing fills the centre. Your instructor demonstrates details and feathering, but simpler dots and lines work well too.
After the guided designs, you can choose your own colours and patterns. Help stays close by, so a blocked piping bag or wandering outline doesn’t need to hold you up.
Most of the workshop centres on individual biscuits, which leaves space for conversation. If you’d like a shared task, ask about a table design challenge. Colleagues can agree a palette and decorate a matching set.
The pace is gentle and seated, with no need to race or compete. It suits teams who’d rather make something than perform. However, it won’t suit a brief built around physical challenges.
We bring pre-baked biscuits, icing, edible decorations and tools, plus table covers and take-home packaging. Your instructor runs the session. You’ll need an indoor space with tables and chairs, but no kitchen.
Before booking, we’ll work through dietary needs, access requirements and room timings with you. At the end, your instructor explains how to pack the biscuits carefully, because fresh icing needs protection on the journey home.
