Communication based
team building events

When your team needs to talk properly again, these events give them a reason to do it. We put your people into shared challenges where they have to listen, swap ideas and work things out together, without it ever feeling like a training day. Whether you’re bringing a brand new team together, drawing out quieter voices, or reconnecting people who’ve been stuck in heads down mode, our communication team building activities create easy, natural conversations that carry back into work.

Communication Team Building Events

Why communication team building
actually works.

Most communication problems in teams aren’t about personality. They’re about habit. People stay in their own lane, stick with the same faces and rarely hear from the people they don’t normally work with. Communication team building changes that by putting your team into a shared challenge where talking, listening and working things out together is how they get the job done.

The activities in this section are chosen because they create real communication when there’s a bit of pressure on. Teams have to make quick decisions, share out roles without second guessing each other, and pass information clearly across the group. You can’t get that from a classroom chat. You practise it by getting stuck in, and these events make that practice feel like a properly good day out.

Who these events are best for

Communication events suit all sorts of team situations. They’re especially useful for new teams that haven’t found their rhythm yet, or haven’t built trust with each other. They work well for hybrid and remote teams that spend most of their time in separate locations and need time together that feels worth it. They’re also a good fit for teams going through change, including a restructure, a merger or a shift in leadership, where old communication patterns have been knocked about.

They can help quieter teams too, especially where a few voices tend to do most of the talking while others hang back. Cross functional groups from different departments also get plenty from them, because they need to understand how each other thinks and works.

If your team has grown quickly and the left hand doesn’t always know what the right hand is doing, a communication led event is a strong place to start.

What to expect on the day

Communication team building events should feel enjoyable, not like a development exercise with someone taking notes in the corner. We group your team, give them a shared goal and put them into situations where they need to coordinate, react in real time and find a way through together. The debrief stays light, and the focus is on the shared experience rather than picking everything apart.

NewWave Events handles the planning, setup and delivery. You bring the team.

Planning a communication team building event

We can run events indoors or outdoors, at your venue or at a location we help you source. Most formats work for groups from 10 to 200 people, and we can adapt them to fit a half day, full day or part of a wider company away day or conference programme.

Get in touch with the team and we’ll talk through the right format for your group size, location and objectives.
