Goat Yoga is a relaxed corporate wellbeing event with a simple premise. Your group takes part in gentle yoga and stretching while goats roam freely in a controlled space. They may come over to investigate a mat, settle beside someone or wander off again. We never promise goat cuddles or climbing, because the herd’s choice comes first.
We begin with a short welcome covering footwear, hygiene and how to behave around the animals. The goat handler explains the rules clearly: nobody chases, feeds, lifts or places a goat for a photograph. The goats have a separate area where they can withdraw whenever they want, and the handler watches their behaviour throughout.
Next comes a 35 to 45 minute instructor led session. Movements are low impact and easy to adapt, so nobody needs yoga experience or an impressive downward dog. Your team can use a chair, stay standing, take breaks or opt for seated observation. Participation is personal, not a test.
After the movement session, there is time for supervised interaction, photographs and the conversations that tend to happen when a goat decides somebody’s shoelace looks interesting. This part usually lasts 15 to 30 minutes. It gives colleagues a natural way to talk without having to make small talk about work.
The event suits teams who want a shared experience without the pressure of winning. It works well as an icebreaker for a mixed group, a wellbeing break during an offsite, or a thank you after a demanding period. It is less suitable if your team wants a serious fitness class or a high energy team challenge.
We can run Goat Yoga indoors in a dry, ventilated area that can be cleaned properly, or outdoors under suitable covered shelter. A crowded office is rarely the right setting. The venue needs space for the goats, a separate clean refreshment area and a sensible route to warm running water for handwashing.
For larger groups, we plan staggered cohorts rather than packing everyone into one class. That protects the goats’ comfort and gives each person enough room. Sessions usually run for 60 to 90 minutes, and we will confirm the best format after checking your numbers, venue and handwashing capacity.
NewWave brings the qualified instructor, goat handler and welfare lead, goats, risk assessment, public liability cover, first aid provision and cleaning supplies. We can supply mats or confirm a bring your own mat or towel plan in advance. We also provide handwash stations where venue facilities are not enough, because hand gel and wipes are not a replacement after animal contact.
We ask guests to wear comfortable layers and clothes they do not mind getting a little dirty. Closed toe shoes are best for arrival and outdoor or farm surfaces. Food, drinks, gum and smoking stay out of the animal area, and everyone washes their hands with soap and warm water before refreshments or leaving.
