GoGive Backpack Charity Event

If you want your CSR day to end with something tangible, this is the one. Your team takes on tablet-led challenges, earns the items they need, then packs backpacks for people experiencing homelessness.

It’s proper team building with a direct outcome. No fluff. No sitting through a talk and calling it impact. Everyone gets involved, everyone can contribute, and there’s a real pile of backpacks at the end.

We run it in person and handle the lot, from the hosts and tablets to the challenge flow and pack-out. You turn up, get stuck in, and leave knowing your team has done something useful.

It works well when you want a shared win that feels a bit bigger than the usual away day. Good fun, a decent bit of purpose, and something people can actually talk about afterwards.

Event Summary.

GoGive Backpack is built for teams that want their CSR event to mean something. Instead of making a donation and calling it a day, your group earns the items through a series of quick, lively challenges, then uses them to fill backpacks for people experiencing homelessness. It’s hands-on, straightforward, and the result is easy to see.

The format keeps everyone moving. Teams tackle tablet-based tasks, some can be photo or video challenges, and each successful round unlocks more of the items they need. Those items usually include practical essentials such as toiletries, non-perishable food and other useful bits that make a backpack worth having.

Once the challenge section wraps up, the packing starts. Teams sort the items, build the backpacks and get everything ready for donation. That final moment matters. People can see exactly what their effort has produced, which gives the whole session a bit more weight than a standard team game.

It’s a good fit if you’ve got mixed personalities in the room. The challenges ask people to think, talk, plan and make decisions together, but nobody needs to be especially sporty or outgoing to join in. It’s built around your team, not their fitness level, and it gives quieter people a way in as well.

The atmosphere is upbeat without getting silly for the sake of it. There’s a bit of competition, a bit of problem-solving, and a shared purpose running through the whole thing. Teams usually get behind it quickly because they can see the link between the activity and the backpacks they’re filling.

This is especially useful for company away days, winter CSR sessions, staff recognition events and any time you want to do something that feels grounded and useful. It also works nicely for bigger groups, since the format can scale without losing the sense that everyone’s contributing.

We’ll provide the facilitation, the tablets, the challenge structure and everything needed for the pack-out. If you’re planning the event, that means less juggling on your side and fewer moving parts to worry about. What we quote is what you pay, and we’ll tell you straight away if the event isn’t a good match for your group or venue.

If you want a charity event with a proper end result, this is a solid shout. Your team gets a shared task, your comms team gets a story people can understand in one line, and the charity partner gets backpacks that are ready to go.

What event leads tell us

Proof from teams who've actually run one.

We have used NewWave Events a couple of times at Kohler. Though we had different event hosts each time both crews were superb, steering the atmosphere and activities with expertise that sets them apart. The activities and equipment were well designed and really helped us improve communications and relationships within our team whilst having fun. Thank you!

Practical questions, practical answers.

The easiest way to start is a quick call, usually about eight minutes. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Just tell us roughly what you’re planning and we’ll talk you through what’s worth knowing. If we’re a good fit, brilliant. If not, you’ll still come away knowing more than you did.
