INSIDE THE EVENT

What to expect

If you want people to actually talk to each other, this works. A Traditional Afternoon Tea & Pimm’s Garden Party Experience gives your team space to relax, mix naturally and enjoy a summer event that doesn’t ask anyone to throw themselves into a high energy challenge.

This is a hosted British garden party with substance to it. Think arrival drinks, croquet and quoits on the lawn, a proper afternoon tea service, and an optional Pimm’s bar with low and no alcohol options for guests who want the look without the drink.

It suits teams that want reward and recognition, client hospitality, or a low pressure social after a busy stretch. Because the format is familiar, people settle quickly. They know how to enjoy tea, cake and a bit of gentle competition.

We run the day for you and bring what it needs. So whether you’re planning for a leadership group, a mixed department social or a large summer party, your team can just turn up and enjoy it.

WE KNOW THIS EVENT IS GREAT FOR

Team Building, Relaxed, Wellness, Entertainment, Food & Drink Objectives

Event Summary.

This event is built for conversation first. That’s why it works so well for groups who want a social that feels looked after, not forced. People can chat over tea, join a croquet round, have a go at giant garden games, or simply settle into the atmosphere. Every comfort level is welcome.

A typical session starts with a hosted welcome and an arrival drink. That might be a classic Pimm’s serve, an alcohol free alternative, tea, coffee or soft drinks, depending on the brief. We then ease guests into the event with light lawn game rotations, table hosting, or a simple inter team league if you want a bit of structure without making the day too competitive.

The afternoon tea itself is a proper part of the event, not an afterthought. Guests are served finger sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, cakes, and tea or coffee. We can also build in extras such as strawberries and cream, regional menu touches, or a hosted tea ritual with tasting notes and brewing tips if you want the format to feel more distinct.

If you want light team building in the mix, we can do that without changing the tone of the day. For example, we can run mini etiquette challenges, table styling tasks, garnish station moments, or a croquet leaderboard between tables. It stays relaxed, but it gives people a reason to mix beyond their usual group.

This suits summer parties, networking sessions, away days, client hosting and thank you events. It’s especially good for mixed groups because nobody needs previous experience and the physical demand is low. Even so, if your aim is deep problem solving or a hard driving competitive event, we’d be honest and point you to something else.

The lawn games are simple to join and easy to explain. Croquet is usually the star because it’s social and slower paced, but quoits, badminton and oversized garden games work well too. Guests can dip in and out as they like, so there isn’t pressure to perform or stay active the whole time.

Outdoor space gives this event its best version, but it isn’t all or nothing. If your venue has a terrace, marquee, orangery or indoor backup, we can adapt the layout so the event still runs well if the weather turns. That’s a big part of making the day feel easy for the organiser, because the contingency plan is thought through in advance.

Accessibility matters here, and this format can be more inclusive than sport led away days. Seating, table service, level routes and accessible toilets all help. Lawn surfaces can be tricky for some guests, so where needed we can use mixed surfaces, hardstanding areas and challenge by choice activities so people can take part in a way that suits them.

We provide the event management, hosting, game equipment and the overall flow of the session. Catering, styling, furniture, crockery, bar setup and staffing can all be built around your venue and numbers. We’ll also talk through dietaries, alcohol licensing where needed, and final catering deadlines early on, so there are no awkward surprises later.

What event leads tell us

Proof from teams who've actually run one.

We have used NewWave Events a couple of times at Kohler. Though we had different event hosts each time both crews were superb, steering the atmosphere and activities with expertise that sets them apart. The activities and equipment were well designed and really helped us improve communications and relationships within our team whilst having fun. Thank you!

The easiest way to start is a quick call, usually about eight minutes. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Just tell us roughly what you’re planning and we’ll talk you through what’s worth knowing. If we’re a good fit, brilliant. If not, you’ll still come away knowing more than you did.
